Stained Unravel develops a cellular automaton in the tradition of Conway’s Game of Life. Its cells can occupy a vocabulary of geometric states, and their relations generate larger formations. Color changes as configurations persist; neighboring forms can gather into shared groups and subsequently come apart.

Markov’s Dream has a palette of vivid green, magenta and blue, together with black and white, on a grey ground. In the artist’s account, these colors return to a palette first used in Markov’s Window in 2004 and revisited in later works. The title thus links this 2026 cellular system to a longer investigation of chance, memory and color.
The series was presented with Nguyen Wahed and Interface Gallery in Senescenence, New York, in April–May 2026, alongside plotter drawings derived from related generative logic. This token contains the animated work on-chain.
