Hypothetically Macro #32 by Iskra Velitchkova

The composition brings together variations that suggest both microscopic structures and larger, imagined environments.

Created using Processing, Hypothetically Macro was presented with Hypothetically Micro in Field Guide, curated by Jason Bailey for Feral File. The exhibition opened on 20 January 2022 and asked artists to work with the ideas of specimens and ecosystems. Its use of grouped variations drew on Edward Tufte’s concept of small multiples.

This token is edition 32 of 100, with one artist’s proof listed in the token metadata. It contains the complete sixteen-panel composition. Bailey’s accompanying essay dates the image to 2021; Feral File catalogues the work as 2022 and records the series as minted on 19 January 2022. The published work is a fixed color image, rather than a live generative program.
