89 Bright × Empty Rooms was created for collectors holding a complete set of 923 Empty Rooms. The series develops An Empty Room, Reas’s commission for LACMA’s Coded: Art Enters the Computer Age, 1952–1982 exhibition.

This is output #54 of the 89-work release. Its changing configurations belong to the artwork itself; a still records one state of a larger software system.
