Fibo uses Fibonacci numbers as a framework for continuous variation, extending Dehlinger’s algorithmic drawing practice into motion.

Fibo was Dehlinger’s first long-form generative art project, released in 2024. Numbers from the Fibonacci sequence govern aspects of its structure, including the underlying grid and the number of lines. The artist combines this numerical framework with randomized choices, allowing each work to produce successive visual events.

Color is also part of the procedure. Dehlinger describes selecting backgrounds and ranges of color through the program, with individual tones drawn from those ranges. Structures accumulate and disappear before another event begins. The sequence extends his interest in repetition and variation beyond the fixed sheet of a plotter drawing.
