The cover features Return to a Square (1968) by Japan's Computer Technique Group (CTG). Created by mathematically transforming a square into a woman's profile and back again, the image had appeared in the seminal 1968 Cybernetic Serendipity exhibition and is among CTG's pioneering demonstrations of computer-generated morphing.
