Digital work

Alternate 178v1

2023
Kim Asendorf ↗
Medium
Real-time generative digital animation
Materials & process
Browser-based generative software; Ethereum token.
Dimensions
Variable display dimensions.
Edition
Unique token #178; version 1.

Black, white and muted green structures are punctuated by a small yellow shape. Individual pixels move among neighboring positions, allowing a regular starting grid to develop into a changing pattern.

Alternate stores its generative system on Ethereum and renders it with WebGL2. At each step, pixels can move toward one of eight neighboring positions. The project permits owners to modify a work through four versions; this token is currently version 1, with an analogous palette, grid layout and seed 3008453. The version forms part of the work’s recorded title.

Provenance

Created in 2023; token released on 13 December 2023. Unique token #178; version 1.
