Created in 2010, Mountain Tour is an early example of Asendorf’s use of pixel sorting to transform found landscape photographs.

This image depicts the Hochfeiler in the Zillertal Alps, Austria. Sorting picture elements according to numerical values produces passages that seem stretched or melted while preserving fragments of the photographic scene. The work was issued on Tezos in 2022; the catalogue date follows the original image.
