Balance #10 sets a large gray plane against saturated violet, with three smaller green blocks rising from the lower edge. The elements move and change their relationships: what appears to support the gray form at one moment can slip away at another. A minimal vocabulary of rectangles produces a study in weight, spacing and visual equilibrium.
The work is one of 24 unique pieces in Balance (2025). Code by Reinier Feijen translates Rozendaal’s design into responsive browser software. The animation develops in real time and adapts to its display; the code is stored on Ethereum. Its changing proportions are part of the work, rather than different crops of a fixed image.
