The preview of Rooms #22 uses a dark palette to suggest depth. A violet rectangular plane, deep blue side wall and green surfaces emerge around a black central space. Their sharp boundaries read as doors, walls or openings, even though the image is made from flat color. As the software runs, brighter violet and red planes can transform the scene.
In Rooms, lines moving at different speeds generate changing relationships of perspective and space. The composition adapts to the screen, with broad displays emphasizing lateral movement and narrower ones producing more vertical arrangements. Reinier Feijen developed the code, which is stored on Ethereum.
Fellowship dates Rooms to 2024. The series was included in MoMA’s Light: Rafaël Rozendaal (2024–25) before its 2025 release as 44 unique on-chain works.
