Magenta and black angular bands turn through a bright yellow field. The moving spiral shifts between a flat geometric pattern and the suggestion of a passage opening into depth.

Twist #95 builds a rectilinear spiral from magenta and black forms on yellow. Steps and right angles replace the smooth curves usually associated with a spiral. As the image moves, the bands appear to turn and fold through one another, giving the flat pattern a sense of recession and return.
Rozendaal describes Twist as a series of moving paintings in which color travels through spirals. The work runs as responsive software, so the composition changes with the proportions of its screen. Art Blocks released the series of 250 unique works on 17 January 2024; the artist dates the project itself to 2023.
Twist was among the website works listed for MoMA’s Light: Rafaël Rozendaal (2024–25). This connection places the series within his broader practice of making autonomous browser artworks that can move between personal screens and large public displays.
