Fragments of the program’s own code become a shifting field of letters and symbols. Grey, red and cyan characters emerge from black, making the software’s written instructions part of its visible material.

Crush displays fragments of its own source code on an ASCII grid. A custom JavaScript and WebGL bitmap-text renderer animates the characters in real time. The work folds its means of construction into its appearance: code is both the instruction that produces the image and the material shown within it.
Token #229 uses the EGA 3 palette and vertically stretched characters. The live version provides scale and shading controls, together with PNG and text exports. A still records one configuration of a continuously moving typographic composition.
