Gyricon was created for Art on Ledger Stax, a five-artist generative release introduced in July 2024. Gysin’s contribution uses ASCII letters, numbers and symbols to produce kinetic, resolution-independent compositions. A selected frame, sized for the device, becomes a still image on its E Ink lock screen, while the browser version remains in motion.
